Warm wood cabinetry runs through the kitchen, living room and primary bath, set against white quartz, painted brick and marble look tile. Matte black hardware, brass lighting and tall windows onto the green lawn tie the Fort Collins home together as one calm, light filled space.

What does an interior designer do?

An interior designer plans the space, selects finishes, fixtures, furnishings and lighting, produces drawings and floor plans, and coordinates contractors and vendors so the finished room matches the design. At Narrative Interiors, Mandy holds a degree in Interior Design and Architecture.
How much does an interior designer cost in Fort Collins?
​
It depends on the scope: the number of rooms, the square footage, whether the project includes a renovation, how much sourcing is involved, and how much build management is needed. Each service level is priced differently, and the fee is set at the consultation once the scope is clear.
What happens at an interior design consultation?
​
An in-home walk through of your space, usually scheduled within a month of your call. We talk through what is and is not working, learn how you live in the home, and confirm which service fits. Call (970) 286-9918, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
How long does an interior design project take?
​
Four weeks for an interior design styling or furniture project. Six to nine months for a full renovation with drawings, selections, procurement and construction. Timelines are set once the scope and service level are confirmed.
What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?
​
Training and scope. A decorator works with surface finishes and furnishings. An interior designer is trained to plan space, draw layouts, specify materials and coordinate construction. Mandy is an NKBA Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer and an ASID member, with a degree in Interior Design and Architecture.
